Job Description

REPORTS TO: Mechanical Services Manager CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

Position Summary:
Responsible for planned maintenance repairs and new installation for commercial, industrial, and institutional HVAC and mechanical systems and equipment. Includes the ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain HVAC systems and to commission new and existing mechanical and control system installations to ensure occupant comfort and reduce the energy used by facilities. This position will be handling field service calls, review system installations and provide onsite and remote diagnostics to verify that the facility HVAC is operational to the design specifications and client requests.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
1. Analyzes, plans, and performs preventive maintenance of HVAC systems.

2. Troubleshoots, repairs and makes modifications of HVAC systems.

3. Adheres to all city, state, and federal regulatory statues.

4. Orders and maintains parts needed to repair and maintain HVAC equipment.

5. Manages relationships with clients.

6. Performs manual tasks such as bending, reaching, standing, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs., or maneuvering heavier items with additional manpower or appropriate devices.

Education Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s degree desired
• Additional specialized training such as from a Technical school, etc. preferred

Experience Requirements:
• Five years of previous, relevant HVAC experience preferred
• Previous experience in HVAC service, maintenance, and/or controls required

Certifications & Licenses:
EPA Universal Certification required; State of Texas – Registered Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician Certification preferred; Must have valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Job Skill Qualifications:
• Proficient knowledge of refrigeration cycles to include: identifying components in advanced refrigeration circuits,
understanding how each component works, diagnosing and correcting problems in the refrigeration circuit, using
manifold gauge set, pressure/temperature chart and temperature measuring devices for routine maintenance and to
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and prioritize
• Knowledge in Windows operating systems
• Must be willing to take and pass background and drug screens
