Job Description:
The MCC Operations Supervisor is a centralized logistics resource, reporting to the MCC Operations Manager, responsible for overseeing and in partnership with the regional terminal management coordinating the Postal Service operations.

As the central resource the MCC Operations Supervisor ensures a safe and on time delivery service to our customers, ensures that equipment and drivers comply with DOT and company safety regulations, disseminate information to the field accurately and timely providing decision making support that includes performance, cost controls, and maximizes the utilization of drivers and equipment

Job Qualifications:

Transportation Dispatch Management
* Logistics and transportation industry experience
* Actively and efficiently monitor multi-line telephone system.
* Respond to incoming calls from customers of all types; uphold The Matheson Company customer service focus through every interaction.
* Listen and obtain information from callers in a professional, systematic and organized manner.
* Triage and resolve issues timely and cost effectively.
* Communicate with terminal managers as needed.
* Interact with Field Managers and Lead Drivers providing them leadership guidance to help solve operational/maintenance breakdowns and improvement opportunities.
* Assist drivers with mechanical breakdowns and coordinate vendors for repairs while working closely with Maintenance Managers
* Source, coordinate and monitor rental equipment including documents and creating PO numbers while working with Field Management
* Ensure drivers are following assigned trips to plan while continuously looking for areas of improvement
* Monitor driver late starts and delays while communicating with USPS and Field Management
* Effectively monitor driver speed, safety and other factors influencing traffic conditions and driver’s ability to effectively, efficiently and safely execute the completion of their route.
* Advise drivers of adverse weather conditions and road conditions.
* Engage in timely communication with drivers to accurately exchange information on any changes pertaining to routes and delivery time.
* Log drivers in and out of GPS tracking system as needed.
* Book travel arrangements for drivers as directed by Management
* Prepare daily records, communications, and maintain filing system for Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and Department of Transportation (DOT) files
* Understand DOT hours of service regulations and ensure driver compliance.
* Possess very strong interpersonal skills and be able to discuss dispatch issues with drivers, customers and managers.
