SUMMARY Carestream Health’s facility in White City, Oregon currently has an opening for a hands-on Quality Control Supervisor / QMS Engineer supporting its DryView, and Contract Manufacturing businesses. This position will supervise daily operations, schedule, train, and provide personnel development to a team of 10+ quality control operators. The successful candidate will implement and manage quality control and quality management systems designed for continuous production which comply with all site certification requirements. New product development will require interaction with Engineering teams and support functions to develop a quality package for product commercialization. Continuous training will be essential to ensure proper technique and product consistency which meet the established standards and customer specifications. Execution of internal audit plan will be performed as lead auditor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise Quality Control production areas supporting 24 hour by 7 day operations.
• Work with Product Engineers to test/implement specific test methods required for new products. Design and complete protocols for gage R&R analysis, development of visual control standards (VCS), etc.
• Support execution of QMS Contract Manufacturing businesses.
• Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct applicable service gaps.
• Actively participates in / Leads internal quality audits.
• Responsible for quickly identifying non-conformance in quality, completing accurate root cause analysis, and instructing staff in corrective actions.
• Ensures compliance in all facets of quality SOPs and records to meet all site certification requirements.
• Work with Product Engineers to create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures. With engineer, create quality requirements for all product developmental and commercialization phases.
• Manage employee training meeting safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while supporting a flexible cross functional workforce.
• Drive continuous improvement activities related to department metrics to meet production and performance requirements.
• Promote Zero Defect philosophy
o Sponsor failure modes analysis and quality assessment activities to proactively identify and eliminate potential manufacturing problems.
o Develop material flows through the production area to limit potential for error
o Develop standard work in all phases of the operation, and insure that standard work is always followed.
• Maintains broad-based understanding of all internal systems (SAP, production reporting, etc.), processes, and technology associated with the organization’s business.
• Creates performance expectations, monitors progress, and provides individual and team feedback on a regular basis.
• Makes staffing decisions relative to hiring new employees.
• Demonstrates positive leadership and direction
• Presents ideas and information effectively through written and oral communication at all internal levels and with customers.

Minimum Required Skills

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS and BACKGROUND
• A minimum of 2 years leadership experience in Quality Control and / or Quality Assurance.
• A BS in Engineering, Physical Sciences or equivalent experience (equivalent – 10+ years of manufacturing lab and 5+ years leadership).
• Expected Background
o Previous supervisory role
o Quality engineering and quality systems / Manufacturing product engineering
o Six Sigma (black belt desired) and/or ASQ certification
o Ability to coach team members, set goals, facilitate development plans

Compensation: The person hired by Carestream will be based on experience. The target wage for this role would be a range of $70-90,000, plus excellent benefits.
