Job Description

Exacta Land Surveyors, Inc. is seeking a professional licensed land surveyor currently licensed in the state of Florida to oversee crews from our Ft. Myers office.
Active, Current Professional Land Surveyor License for applicable state; in good standing
Willingness to teach and guide field crews and drafters
Strong professional image, integrity, and commitment to excellence
CAD efficiency
Survey technology literate
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to make mathematical calculations such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
The ability to understand and interpret data

Verbal and written communication skills

The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to operate a motor vehicle with a valid license and clean driving history

Supervise, guide and assist crews completing surveying work
Create documents or images to convey site information, reconcile data, measurements, etc for surveys
Generate reports and/or preparation and documentation to operations, administration, and/or clients
The position is home-based; however the PLS will need to visit job sites and team members as needed
Performs other related duties as required
Knowledge of mathematics and drafting
Residential or Commercial development and construction projects
Experience with GPS, total stations and data collectors
Prior field work for land surveying including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, topographic, etc.
Coordinating activities with office personnel, including surveying technicians and engineering staff
Ability to multitask, adhere to timelines, and remain focused
Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural or urban surroundings
Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds
Regularly walk, stand, crouch or stoop; frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
Walk over rough, uneven, or slippery surfaces
Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements
Ability to travel to job sites, as needed

Survey Crew Chief – 5 years minimum
Experience performing survey field work relating to topography, boundary, and construction staking
Experience preparing ALTA surveys, easement exhibits, plats, and legal descriptions and other survey products
Experience performing deed research, obtaining right of way plans, and coordinating utility locator service information
Experience using GPS, robotic total station, and conventional survey equipment as a one person crew
Experience supervising and coordinating the work of multiple survey crews and office personnel, and training employees as well as provide guidance and mentoring to staff in the survey practice
AutoCAD experience preferred
JAVAD – 1 year
