Job Description

Reports to LAN Accounting Manager. With minimal direction, is responsible for the assigned project accounting functions of the LAN Brand. Performs a variety of job costing accounting activities related to billing and Accounts receivable from clients including the processes and payment of sub consultants. Provides direct financial guidance to the project managers while ensuring compliance with Corporate Accounting Guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Work with Project Administrator on creating new projects in Vision, enter budgets, ensure work plans are set up in accordance to binding contracts and ensure agreements and other legal documents are properly filed including any additional services.
• Set up billing terms and prepare monthly invoices in accordance with contracts.
• Communicate unbilled fees and uncollected AR with Project Administrator / Project Managers and LAN Accounting Manager to ensure they are kept to an acceptable level: discuss any possible risks or issues as they arise.
• Work with Project Managers to develop invoice templates formatted in accordance with client preferences.
• Prepare all invoices for Project Manager approval and subsequent distribution to clients in accordance with contract requirements. Understand client specific invoicing needs, including the need to submit electronic billing statements in a specific format and into a specific system.
• Prepare both standardized and ad-hoc monthly financial reports for Business Group Directors, Team Leaders, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators as needed.
• Communicate with Business Group Directors, Team Leaders, Project Managers and Project Coordinators project status and other needs including contract close out and retention.
• Monitor cost charges to projects for accuracy and eligibility and perform project audits for business groups.
• Process sub consultant invoices and their payment according to company policies.
• Review timesheets for compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
• Coordinate with corporate Accounting on month-end close and other financial activities as needed.
• Prepare Projects for Year-End close-outs following company standards
• Act as a backup support for Accounts Payable and other accounting staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all company guidelines, deadlines and other directions.
• Uses various software applications, such as Deltek Vision, spreadsheets, relational databases, and graphics packages to assemble, organize and/or format data and/or reports.

• A Bachelor of Science or higher in Accounting or a related field
• 5+ years of corresponding experience as listed above in Project Accounting or Cost Accounting.
• Advanced Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Deltek Vision is highly preferred.
