Job Description

Job Salary: $14 – $15 Per Hour

Position Summary: Compose and copy-edit text in various company publications. Please note that this is a part time position.

Essential Functions

• Prepare, rewrite and edit material to improve readability.
• Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources.
• Read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax. Ensuring all text elements meet
editing quality standards and style consistencies.
• Review and approve proofs submitted by research and marketing departments prior to publication production.
• Plan the contents of publications according to the publication’s style, editorial policy, and publishing requirements.
• Arrange for copyright permissions.
• Create and maintain style guides for assigned product lines.
• Provide editing support to other assignments as needed.

Skills and Abilities

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (four year college or university) in a related field (Publishing, Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, etc.)

Experience: Two to four years related experience

Computer Skills: One or more years work or educational experience with technology such as word processing. The ability to quickly learn new software is required.
