Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Senior Digital Analyst is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to monitor the success of the marketing and communications objectives for the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE). The Senior Analyst will partner with owners of various marketing and editorial, and outreach channels (e.g. HGSE website, social media, etc.) to aggregate data, in order to tell the holistic story of HGSE’s presence within the field of education. A successful candidate will possess an orientation toward a highly collaborative work environment, and an ability to evaluate different components to build a big-picture perspective.
Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Help establish appropriate KPIs and a measurement strategy to track HGSE’s digital presence through all channels including the HGSE website, email newsletters, social media channels, etc.
• Formulate an analytics approach, establish relevant metrics, and monitor analytics to ground HGSE engagement strategies in targeted audience interests and behaviors. Develop insights from analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of content, outreach strategies, and marketing strategies.
• Provide relevant and clear analytics reporting to editorial and marketing teams so they can effectively use data to inform decision making. Develop an analytics reporting approach that helps key stakeholders outside of Communications and Marketing understand the impact of our overall strategy as well as individual pieces of content.
• Extrapolate audience insights from data to help develop user journeys for marketing and editorial. Develop strategies to help enhance audience engagement.
• Work closely with the Director of Marketing and the Director of Editorial Strategy to respond to specific analytics needs of those teams. Specifically work with the editorial team on a dissemination strategy during the content development process.
• Develop deep understanding of the school’s CRM to help provide guidance on how to best connect various interactions (e.g. social, email, etc.) with the school’s goals.
• Set up and track pixels across multiple servers/platforms.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of bachelor’s degree.
4+ years experience in digital advertising, analytics, and/or digital content platforms

Additional Qualifications

*Strong analytical, organization, and task management skills
*Ability to analyze raw data, interpret performance, draw quantifiable conclusions, summarize actionable recommendations, forecast outcomes/implications
*Experience building client reports for different levels of leadership to clearly communicate research-driven insights
*Experience in Google Analytics
* Ability to analyze HGSE editorial, marketing, and outreach efforts individually, and converge knowledge/learnings to a big picture analysis of HGSE’s standing in the marketplace
* Experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
* Experience in Slate, Google Data Studio, Google Adwords, and Google Tag Manager preferred, but not required.
