Aguirre & Fields, LP is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Staff Accountant in the Sugar Land area. POSITION SUMMARY The Staff Accountant will perform a wide range of general accounting, bookkeeping and support functions. The Staff Accountant will complete general accounting functions, including accounts receivables, accounts payable, general payroll, fixed asset and depreciation, fiscal period reporting and close.


General accounts receivable functions, including prepare and submit customer invoices, code, post and receive payments, prepare and coordinate deposit activities, report and monitor accounts receivables.

General accounts payable functions, including check, verify and process invoices, prepare payments for signature, sort, code and enter accounts payable data, analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices and maintain vendor files.

General accounting functions.

Update, verify and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other financial records.

Assist in fiscal period close and reporting process.

Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedule.

Prepare and analyze financial data to accurately generate reports and financial statements.

Analyze and resolve accounting problems and discrepancies.

Perform all necessary account, bank and other reconciliations.

Monitor, audit and reconcile petty cash.

Assist with employee expense reports.

Perform filing and general administrative tasks.

Comply with all Company policies, procedures, practices and rules.

Serve as an example of proper conduct per Company Character Qualities.

Assume other duties as directed by immediate supervisor.

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
•2+ years’ experience in accounting or related field.
•Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
•Proficient with MS Office suites with strong Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, and vlook ups.
•Knowledge of accounting software and QuickBooks.
